Remet and 3D Lab open up $3.1 million 3D printing laboratory outfitted with ATO Lab atomizer

Remet, a Polish metal composition maker, has opened a €2.8 million ($3.1 million) metal 3D printing certification laboratory in Stalowa Wola with 3D Lab, a Warsaw-based mostly 3D printing certification assistance bureau. 3D Lab assisted to equip the facility with 3D printers from top OEM 3D Programs, as well its own ATO Lab metallic powder atomizer

Remet opened the laboratory as it sought to employ additive producing certification into its manufacturing workflow. The business is also seeking to complete investigate into 3D printing certification materials and production procedures. The facility will hence dwelling a full vary of products and equipment supporting each investigation and production for additive producing certification. Remet’s 3D printing certification laboratory also represents the initially installation of 3D Lab’s ATO Lab equipment.

Remet Metallic Labs 3D printing certification laboratory

Established in 2004, Remet manufactures metal constructions for the oil and fuel, energy era and offshore industries. The organization creates intricate assemblies to aid companies extract oil and gas from the bottom of the seas and oceans. It has served huge corporations inside these industries, such as BP, Statoil, GE Oil & Fuel, and ExxonMobil.

At the moment, Remet manufactures its assemblies working with CNC machining procedures. Even so, it has launched a new division, titled Remet Steel Labs, committed to utilizing comprehensive projects in the subject of additive manufacturing certification for automotive, aerospace and house industries. The 3D printing certification laboratory will be headed by the new department.

In Remet Metal Labs’ new facility, the company’s 3D Methods equipment consist of the DMP Flex 350 for metallic 3D printing certification, and the Figure 4 SLA 3D printer for plastic. The two have been put in by 3D Lab, an official 3D Programs reseller.

Remet intends to benefit from the DMP Flex 350 in conjunction with the ATO Lab atomizer, a device for making metal powders working with ultrasonic atomization engineering. The ATO Lab process is created for researchers, and is capable of numerous hundred grams of throughput. Both equally the DMP Flex 350 and ATO Lab units will be utilized by Remet to exam and produce a wide vary of powdered metallic alloys with distinctive chemical compositions and fractions, with the intention of creating extremely versatile prototypes.

The DMP Flex 350 metal 3D printer, a Direct Metallic Laser Sintering (DMLS) process, was introduced by 3D Methods in late 2018 as a successor to the ProX DMP 320. It will come equipped with a module and software program enabling end users to alter the laser and its power. This will help Remet to manufacture components with distinct qualities making use of the metallic powders created with the ATO Lab atomizer.

The Figure 4 will be used for introducing further elements to metallic 3D printed goods, as well as tests concepts through early stages and pre-processing. The 3D printing certification laboratory will also incorporate scanning microscopes, an ultrasonic display for the separation of powders, a warmth treatment furnace, a laser welding station and a technique for machining printed facts.

The ATO Lab atomizer

Formerly recognised as ATO One particular, 3D Lab first introduced its steel powder atomizer at Formnext 2017 as a concept device. It was dubbed as an “office-friendly” process and was established in reaction to expanding demand from customers for metallic powders of varying measurements from SMEs, powder producers, and scientific institutions.

A calendar year afterwards at Formnext 2018, 3D Lab launched its ATO Lab machine, presenting the ultimate and current version of its atomizer to the community.
