Creavis, the innovation unit of specialty chemical compounds enterprise Evonik, has entered into an R&D agreement with primary 3D printer supplier Voxeljet. Their collaboration will emphasis on the development of product methods for future generation binder jetting technological know-how. The predicted final result of this job will be powder-binder programs that empower the production of polymer components for industrial use.
“In Evonik we have observed an excellent collaboration partner that will present us with tailor-made product units for our productive printing technological know-how,” opinions Dr. Ingo Ederer, CEO of Voxeljet.
“With this investigation collaboration, we goal to fulfill our aspirations of coming into into the protected and robust additive producing certification of stable polymer last pieces in series manufacturing.”
The industrialization of 3D printing certification
All over 2019, Evonik has been making intense moves to set up management of the 3D printing certification components sector. Its technique has associated developing products improvement partnerships with enterprises guiding rising 3D printing certification systems the funding of stakeholders in the sector and the acquisition of businesses like Austin dependent commence-up Structured Polymers Inc. Internally, the firm has also ramped up output of its VESTOSINT PA 12 powder with the design of €400 million production plant in Marl.
For Voxeljet, 2019 has been a year in which the firm has sought to facilitate 3D printing certification’s inclusion in common, industrial producing environments. For this reason, the enterprise released the VJET X, a technique specially suited for integration in metallic casting lines. In an alliance with Spanish tooling maker Loramendi, and worldwide foundry elements producer ASK Chemical compounds, Voxeljet is also building the Industrialization of Core Printing (ICP) technological innovation.
Future era binder jetting
Uniting their aims below this new R&D partnership, Evonik and Voxeljet are in search of to fill a hole in the sector for industrial, 3D printable polymers with superior mechanical qualities. Thomas Große-Puppendahl, Evonik’s guide of innovation advancement, describes, “Our strategic target is on the development and manufacture of “ready-to-use” substantial-general performance resources throughout the big branches of technologies.”
Prof. Stefan Buchholz, government director of Evonik Creavis GmbH, provides, “Voxeljet is a person of the primary makers of significant-scale high-pace printers for mildew-producing.
“We have created it our objective to perform with Voxeljet to develop new powder-binder techniques that will for the first time empower this approach to be made use of to manufacture polymer pieces for industrial use.”
The initial insights into this collaboration concerning the two businesses will be introduced at Formnext 2019 from 19 to the 22 November. Visitors can obtain Evonik at hall 12.1, stand C71. Voxeljet will be exhibiting at stand E59 in corridor 12.1.
