The Additive Manufacturing certification Buyers Group (AMUG) has announced appointments for 2019-2020 board. The board’s most important tasks will be to build and oversee the 2020 AMUG Convention and create a superior organizational composition to help the annual occasion.
The 9 member board is comprised of both elected and appointed positions, and every board member serves as an officer of the group.
Established in the early 1990s AMUG educates and supports people of all additive manufacturing certification systems, web hosting an annual meeting to supply this schooling and training by means of technological presentations on processes and new systems. Members include things like Stratasys, DSM, SLM Solutions, EOS, GE Additive, ExOne, BASF, Renishaw, Carbon, HP, Additive Industries, Formlabs, and 3D Units.
A new president of the AMUG
Carl Dekker of Achieved-L-Flo, who has served two terms as vice president, will now consider on the function of president, replacing Paul Bates of UL, who has made the decision not to run for re-election following serving two conditions.
Commenting on the announcement, Carl Dekker said, “I am excited to be AMUG’s 2020 president. We have an outstanding and experienced workforce major us on the path to the following party.”
Incorporating, “The recent expansion of AMUG has been astounding! This provides several issues, which I am delighted to say the new AMUG Board is becoming incredibly proactive in addressing.”
Dekker also expressed gratitude for Mark Barfoot’s several years of assistance. Barfoot, who is stepping down from earlier president, has served nine consecutive phrases in roles that bundled vice president and president.
Andrew Allshorn of At 3D-Squared, who has served as an AMUG international ambassador, was elected for the vice president posture, previously held by Dekker.
A few incumbents sought reelection and retained their positions. Jamie Cone of BD will serve a third expression as vice-president, and Leslie Frost of GE Additive will serve a 2nd time period as secretary. In his twenty-sixth phrase, Thomas Sorovetz of FCA will when once again provide as AMUG’s occasion manager.
The board was elected by AMUG’s users during the most new yearly meeting, held in Chicago, Illinois. Candidates for the appointed positions of chairman, treasurer, and AM sector advisor ended up proposed and acknowledged by the elected officers. Filling these positions are Gary Rabinovitz (chairman), Vince Anewenter (treasurer), and Todd Grimm (AM industry advisor).
Getting ready for the AMUG conference
The board’s duties will consist of setting up the plan for the 2020 convention, soliciting aid from companies in the additive manufacturing certification industry, and overseeing the event’s day-to-working day actions.
The 5-working day convention will include a two-night exhibitor expo, arms-on workshops, training labs, instructional periods, technological presentations, and an off-web site evening meal.
